ImageStation Overview

Over 40 years of photogrammetric technology development goes into ImageStation, starting with analytical stereoplotters and progressing through the current full suite of software applications. ImageStation has applications for your entire production workflow including project creation, automatic triangulation, GIS- and CAD-based stereo feature and DTM collection and editing, automatic DTM and digital surface model (DSM) generation, and automatic orthophoto production and editing from aerial and satellite imagery.

ImageStation is designed with a high degree of automation for high-volume photogrammetry and production mapping customers who need to process large quantities of raw spatial information rapidly and accurately into an actionable format.

The Most Comprehensive Photogrammetric Production Software on the Market

The ImageStation software suite enables digital photogrammetry workflows, including project creation, orientation and triangulation, 3D feature collection and editing, digital terrain model (DTM) collection and editing, and orthophoto production using aerial and satellite imagery. ImageStation is specially designed for high-volume commercial photogrammetry and production mapping customers who need to move large quantities of raw spatial information to an actionable or exploitable format.

GIS Integration

ImageStation within the GeoMedia context helps mapping professionals create continuous, topologically accurate, and attributed map layers stored in a variety of open formats. This integration enables you to streamline the process of creating and/or updating your GIS using photogrammetric techniques and directly store your data as an asset within a corporate data base.

Ortho Cloud Processing

ImageStation accelerates photogrammetric processing through its use of “ortho clouds” consisting of computing resources connected by high-speed network infrastructure and high-performance storage systems. Intergraph’s ortho cloud uses a private cloud paradigm that can be deployed within any organization, including mapping agencies or cloud service providers.

Semi-Global Matching

ImageStation can generate dense point clouds from stereo imagery using the industry-accepted semi-global matching technique. Semi-global matching avoids correlation problems caused by recording or illumination differences or reflections, and facilitates matching at the boundaries of objects or fine structures. You can use these dense point clouds to create precise surface models for highly accurate orthorectification, or as a source for manual or semi-automatic feature collection.
